Root Zone DNSSEC Information

The Domain Name System (DNS) root zone is the highest-level of the naming hierarchy, principally composed of delegations of top-level domains (such as .edu or .in). In managing the DNS root zone, IANA responsibilities include assigning managers for these domains, recording technical delegation data in the root zone, and publishing a registry of related information.

The Top-Level Domain Registry (also known as the Root Zone Database) is the authoritative record of top-level domains, including the organization that manages the domains, technical details and contact information.

The root zone DNS data is available for download as a DNS zone file along with associated trust information, and in other formats.

Existing TLD managers can maintain their delegation details through our online interface.
